Plot: The book picks up where Heat: The Alastor vol. 2 left off. Dante still relives his past in flashbacks: in this book, we see his late teenage years, when he left the house of his foster mother at 18. He then goes on to hunt demon, tackling a Shadow as his photographer friend(?) looks on. He has trouble, and he gets mortally wounded, but being a half-demon, he survives, and finally kills the beast by dawn.
